Where Do Championship Banners Hang?

Custom championship banners hang in gym rafters, on arena walls, and along outfield fences across high school, college, and professional venues. CoverSports has built championship banners for programs across all 50 states since 1874, with a focus on the four formats programs actually need: single-year titles, add-a-year multi-championship displays, retired number banners, and record-board banners.

Every championship banner is digitally printed in CoverSports' Philadelphia facility on Stormflag polyester, Display fabric, or Dacron. Sized to your specific space, finished with grommets, pole pockets, or webbing for hanging. Banners are built to your exact dimensions; if you need a size we haven't seen before, we will create it.

Looking for a banner that lasts 30 or more years? Programs investing in heritage display banners often choose our premium stitched option. Hand-cut and sewn for permanent installation.

Nylon is the tried-and-true fabric of choice for Appliqué, offering long lasting color and a classic aesthetic. Nylon is a tight woven fabric with a slight sheen that draws the eye. It is lightweight and thin, making it ideal for the multiple-layer construction of Appliqué.

Our Stormflag polyester fabric is lightweight and waterproof. It has the capacity to absorb ink straight through the fabric to the reverse side, making it a great choice for banners where single-reverse (image mirrored on back side) construction is needed. Stormflag’s more relaxed weave allows some wind to pass through.

Display fabric is vibrant and ideal for printing. A tight-knit fabric, it enables a sharper printed image than alternatives. While many people ask us about vinyl for its low cost and crisp image, we recommend Display fabric instead. It is lighter weight, hangs flatter, and is far more elegant looking.

Dacron is a great lower-cost alternative to Nylon. Dacron is also a printable fabric, whereas Nylon is not. Printed Dacron offers a similar aesthetic to Appliqué without the high price associated with such a labor intensive process. The fabric is also non-absorbent, hypoallergenic, and mildew resistant.

Available in single-sided (only printed on one side), single-reverse (image is visible on both sides, mirrored on the back), and double-sided (image is printed on both sides with an opaque layer in the middle).

Hemmed Finish - No additional finishing like heading, webbing, or pole pockets. Grommets, velcro, and D-rings can be installed for attachment.

Pole Pocket - A pocket (usually 3”, but can be larger depending on the size of the flag) on the side or top of the flag for the flagpole to pass through. Grommets are installed above and below the pocket for attachment.

Heading & Grommets (or D-rings) - The heading is a thicker fabric that is stitched onto the side or top of the flag that will be attached to the pole. This heading comes with either grommets (standard) or D-rings for attachment to the flagpole.

Webbing - A thick fabric material that is stitched into the edges of a banner to give it more resilience from tearing and ripping. This is typically only used in very large banners.

Velcro (1” or 2” Wide) - In pole banners, velcro is installed on the inside of the pole pocket. When used in conjunction with velcro on the top of the pole, this prevents the banner from scrunching together in the wind. For regular banners, this same option is available, as well as the use of velcro on the back of the banner for hanging.

A note about Grommets: the number and placement of grommets depends on the size of the flag, but if you have specific requirements please let us know and we can build to your specifications. D-rings are also available in addition to or instead of grommets.
