Protect Players at Every Contact Point
Built for Impact
Available in 1-inch and 2-inch foam thicknesses wrapped in durable 18 oz. vinyl. Choose 2-inch padding for dugout rails and sideline fences where players make frequent contact, or 1-inch for lower-traffic posts and perimeter structures.
Covers Every Rail on the Diamond
Fence rail padding fits round or square pipe up to 2 inches in diameter. Use it on dugout top rails, sideline fence rails, bullpen posts, on-deck circle railings, and batting cage frames.
Round or Square Profiles
We manufacture both shapes to match your facility's pipe style. Square rail padding blends seamlessly with adjacent stadium wall padding for a clean, continuous look along the outfield fence line.
Built to Last Outdoors
The 18 oz. PVC-coated vinyl resists UV fading, rot, and mildew season after season. Grommets spaced every 6 inches make installation with zip ties fast, and removal for offseason storage just as easy.
Pair Rail Padding with Full-Field Protection
Fence rail and post padding wraps the structural members that run along your entire perimeter, but a complete field safety layout starts at the backstop and extends through the outfield wall. Pair rail pads with outfield wall padding for high-speed collision zones, backstop padding to absorb impact behind home plate, and fence top protection to cover exposed chain-link edges. Our stadium and field padding guide breaks down recommended thicknesses, mounting options, and how to plan a full-field padding layout from backstop to outfield wall.
Meeting NCAA Rail Padding Requirements
Starting in 2027, NCAA Rule 2.15 requires all baseball and softball venues to pad every hard surface a player could collide with. Dugout rails, sideline fence rails, and any exposed metal posts within the playing area and its immediate surroundings are explicitly covered by this mandate. Chain-link fencing wrapped around metal pipe rails needs padded rails even if the mesh itself is not a hard surface. If your program needs to plan for compliance, our NCAA Rule 2.15 compliance guide covers the full rule text, ASTM foam specifications, cost breakdown, and a step-by-step planning checklist.
