What You Need to Start
Lag Bolts:
For pads with height and width under 6', 4 bolts per pad will suffice. If height or width is over 6', an additional 2 bolts in the middle of the long side are necessary.
Padding with 2" foam requires 1.75" bolts, while 3" and 4" foam require 2.5".
Washers:
Each lag bolt will need a matching 3" diameter washer to lock onto the chain link.
Two People:
One person in front of the padding, holding it in position and putting pressure on the fence, and one person on the back to drive the bolts in.
Impact Driver:
The lag bolts we include with our padding are 7/16", so you will need a drill capable of driving those into the wood backing.
Installation
Position the pad in place. With one person on each side of the fence, raise pad to desired installation height.
Mark the locations where you will install bolts and washers, inset approximately 6” from each corner. Space these evenly for the best appearance.
While applying steady pressure from the front of the pad, use an impact driver to install bolts (with washer) at the marked locations until snug. It is recommended to work across the top corners first, using a level to ensure pads are straight.
